image For all those Steampunk fans out there you may or may not already be aware of Parasol Duelling. I have been a fan of the Steampunk genre myself for several years but only became aware of this sport two years ago when I went to the Calgary Expo. It’s essentially rock paper scissors for the Victorian era Lady.

I won’t lie Parasol Dueling isn’t for everyone and some people might find it incredibly boring but when you have the right group of ladies doing it and doing it right it can be very fun.  From their lavish outfits and special made parasols to listening to them quip and cut wicked jabs at their opponents in utter disdain for the rubbish that dares compare I would recommend seeing it at least once.

Beakerhead will be hosting the 2016 World Championships in September. If you want an introduction to this interesting niche sport for Ladies you may want to head to Calgary, AB.
