I would be remiss as a Canadian if I didn’t say that I squeeled a little when Deadpool made reference to Regina, Saskatchewan in the R rated flick. I won’t spoil anything else for those who haven’t seen it, however, I’d also be remiss if I didn’t mention there is now an online petition to get a Deadpool statue erected (hehe) in Regina that would potentially stream a little bit of tourism to the city.
We all know the Debby Downers out there will let us know the economic, social and political downside to this but considering the extreme unlikelihood this will be pass through I don’t see much harm in it. Even if this was considered seriously by the City Council of Regina the decision would likely be based on a demand by the very people the Council is in position for: the residence of Regina.
Let the people have their Cake and Deadpool too!
