I didn’t have any con plans for the rest of the year as I was broke. So it was just another day, relaxing at home when suddenly I get an e-mail from my IRL yaoi friend with this subject line:
“we must gooooooooooooooooo”
Now, I was aware that Edmonton Expo was coming up and that my current idol was shooting one province over so my mind went there against my better judgement.
“No… She can’t mean…”
I open the e-mail and, lo and behold, Misha Collins was announced as a guest 3 days before the event.
I spent a day moping around, deeply depressed: I was broke, I couldn’t drive, I had no place to stay if I were to go.
Very. Depressed.
The next day (October 18, 2012), I was doodling on the couch and my mom sat down next to me.
“You know. You could go if you budget the trip right… Also I’m willing to drive you if you wanted.”
I gawked at her, “Okay, so where’s the shoulder angel? Let me guess, they’ll never find the body.”
I quickly caved (especially when I considered the fact that I might not have another chance to meet him after this) and my friend followed suit.
We were going to Edmonton Expo!
My friend was working on Friday (October 19, 2012) so we had to leave for Edmonton after her shift which meant we left for Edmonton the night before the con!
My friend was so bored at work that day she made us matching t-shirts for us to wear at the con (she works in screen printing) and once she clocked out we were off with bonus t-shirts!

If my mom didn’t know about Destiel she most certainly did after the con. XD
-I got my shirt autographed.

Apparently we were the first ones to present him with a ‘I heart Misha Collins’ shirt.

He signed ‘So do I, Adrienne! –Misha Collins’ with an arrow pointing to the graphic on my friend’s.

When we told him the name of our town he teased ‘there’s no way a town has that name!’
- I saw his panel which was amazing even though I was at season 4 at the time. (click here, here, then here for my copy of the panel.)
- I got my picture with him:
It was a glorious weekend!

Preparing for a Calgary Expo trip with the family and was super psyched to meet Jack and Ianto (JANTO!) from Torchwood when… Misha Collins (along with Mark Sheppard) is announced for the event!
So of course I saw him again! I was already going, after all.

- I went to his panel again despite STILL being far behind (I think I was caught up to season 5 here and season 8 was currently airing) and it was totally worth it!
- I got another picture with him, this time with a plain shirt:
- I got his autograph for my friend Shipper. My IRL yaoi friend Adrienne and I gave him two postcards: One of my town’s landmark and one or the map of my province with each town marks with their landmarks. We wrote this on the backs:
Despite having a long line up he took his time, felt like 10 min or so, reading all the town names on the map postcard. I felt really back but it was hilarious and adorable. My IRL yaoi friend accidentally called Fort McMurray ‘Fort Mac’ which confused him as he tried to find it on the map…“Do you mean Fort McMurray- HEY! NO SLANG!”He’s amazing. - Only by the end of the day did it occur to me that I should get my sock monkey key chain signed! So I went back. XD I told him how my parents gave me the key chain for Christmas because they knew that I liked you on supernatural and how in his twitter pic he was wearing a sock monkey hat.He looked the monkey over for a place to sign.“I want to get this right.”“There! A moustache!”
And that’s how I got to meet Misha Collins twice in less than a year. <3
